Woman, you rock!
It’s going to be femme fatale at the Lakme Fashion Week finale this March in Mumbai. Designer Anamika Khanna, on whom the finale crown lies, has zeroed in on the ‘in’ and ‘hot’ look for women for her show. Her team, including fashion photographer Tarun Khiwal, make-up artiste Cory Walia, models Vipasha Agarwal, Indrani Dasgupta and Amrit Maghera, is geared towards making a fashion statement.
Reveals Anamika, “It’s going to be all about a woman who has soul. She is intelligent, is exposed to the world, is informed, and also knows how her fashion sensibility will befit an occasion. It’s about You and I.”
Tarun, in flow and sync with Anamika, adds, “I can understand the thought process because it’s precisely how I develop an idea into a picture. The finale will flaunt a woman who is sensuous yet knows where to draw the line so as not to be dressed too sexily. It’s her mind which decides the way she wants to dress up.”
Model Vipasha, all set to tie the knot next month, intends to sport a simple look. An off-white ghagra with gold borders and a red bindi on the forehead. “When fashion begins to influence mantras in life, our goal is achieved,” remarked Anil Chopra, advisor of the LFW. A firm believer in team efforts, Anil adds, “No one person can ever put the entire finale look together. It’s a holistic approach.” Amen.
