Tara Sharma is very happy
Two years since Tara Sharma last release film Khosla Ka Ghosla, yet the petite actress claims she is never been busier and Contradiction Well actually the truth is that she have been shooting all through these 2 years and now have a whole list of films lined up for release reveals the actress. Tara admits that although she is a patient person, it can get frustrating for films to release. “The waiting period can get quite frustrating,” she says but adds, “Khosla Ka Ghosla too released after some delay but since it was a big hit, it was worth the wait. I’m a positive person, so I try not to worry myself over these things.”
It certainly seems like Tara is trying to make up for her absence from the big screen all this time. Next up for release is a dark comedy, an out-and-out comedy caper, a socially relevant film and even a horror! “Ya there’s a whole range out there,” says Tara with a smile. She will be seen in Maharathi, which is a dark comedy that also co-stars Boman Irani, Naseeruddin Shah and Paresh Rawal.
“Then I’m also in Mumbai Cutting as part of Rituparno Ghosh’s story. Dulha Mil Gaya is a completely commercial movie while Ay Fansa is a full-on comedy with Anuuj Sawhney. I play a pregnant woman in Suno Na which is a film with a social message. Two films which I’m hoping will release soon are The Whisperers with Rahul Bose and Amavas which is a horror film,” she reels off. Tara will also be seen in Karan Johar production’s untitled film which will be directed by Renzil D’Silva. “It’s a small but good role in a great script,” she says excitedly. Up next is also a film directed by the script writer of Bheja Fry for which Tara might have to chop those long lovely tresses! “Only if I have the guts for it!” she laughs.
It does seem like a great line-up of films but isn’t Tara apprehensive about audiences reaction, after all, there is something like ‘out of sight, out of mind’? “Fortunately for me, out of the few films I’ve done, half of them have been big hits like Masti, Page 3 and Khosla Ka Ghosla. People still come up to me and ask what I have been doing. So I don’t think the length of time is that big an issue,” says Tara.
Apart from these films, Tara has also been involved with Raven, a kids’ program in the UK where she plays the part of an Indian princess. The actress, who’s married to ad film producer Roopak Saluja, says she’s enjoying married life. “He’s extremely encouraging about my work. Since our professions are inter-related, he understands my timings. Also, since I was part of the corporate world before joining films, I understand his work as well,” she adds.
For Tara, what matters ultimately is that she finds happiness in what she does. “When one talks of success, it can mean so many things to so many people. For me, success also means having a great husband and a good family life. That stability is also a big part of success. The energy you put in good relationships forms part of your happiness,” she says.
