Sussanne and I did crazy things
No, this is not Hrithik Roshan shooting in LA for Kites. This is the Bollywood hottie chilling in Bora Bora by wife Sussanne. The Hrithik Roshan took their first break since their honeymoon in 2003 and went to the French Polynesian island leaving sons Hrehaan, who is two, and Hridhaan, just 5 months old, with Hrithik Roshan parents back in Mumbai.
We were away from the whole world. It was fantastic. We did some crazy, wild things which, of course, I can’t share with you. He is still chilling out at home. The Kites shoot in Mexico and LA was a long and tiring bit of work. And Hrithik is very happy to spend time with the family at last. I celebrated Diwali at Farhan Akhtar house. For the first time I played cards. I lost!” he laughed. Sussanne travels with him most of the time, but it’s still work for Hrithik Roshan. That’s why they took a break in Bora Bora. The petite Sussanne is actually the adventurous type, said Hrithik Roshan, so there were a lot of adventure sports they indulged in.
They were enjoying themselves on this second honeymoon of sorts when Hrithik learned from Ashutosh Gowarikar that he had won the Best Actor award for Jodhaa Akbar at the Kazan movie Festival for Muslim Cinema in Russia. I had not heard about these awards, so I looked up the net,said the actor, who was thrilled to be bestowed with this honour and happy that Jodhaa Akbar had won the prestigious Grand Prix award in the same movie festival. That apart, things are looking up for Hrithik. The injured knee has healed. “I can walk and do things with ease,” said Hrithik Roshan, who was operated on by actress Pooja Batra’s husband Dr Sonu Ahluwalia in the US.
And, with Kites he is flying high. “It’s a different experience, I was speaking in English, acting opposite foreign actors, and I enjoyed shooting for it,” said Hrithik Roshan. His co-star, the Mexican actress Barbara Mori, is “the best actress” he has ever seen. “She’s a natural,” said Hrithik Roshan, “Barbara does not know what glycerine is, to emote, she gets into the skin of the character. She has a totally different approach towards moviemaking.”
Contrary to rumours, Penelope Cruz was never considered for the role. “Barbara was our first choice. But, before her, we did have auditions in Mumbai. However, Barbara suited the role to the T,” added Hrithik Roshan.
