Stars recall their best V-day
Today is not just any other day. For many in the city of Pune, February 14 is a reason to celebrate the emotion of love: love for that someone special whose presence leads to matchless bliss. From sending flowers, to chocolates, to greeting cards, or simply saying those
three magical words — Valentine’s Day is an occasion which is permanently marked on our calendars, year after year.
Some people go all out to please their beloved. Actor Priyanka Chopra remembers, “There was this guy once who, although he couldn’t cook, made me a full meal from scratch! It was a great meal, and what made it more special was the effort he put into it.”
There are others who are lucky enough to find a very good friend at a young age. Actor Anjana Sukhani recalls, “I had a good friend in school, and I didn’t know he liked me. When I finally found out, he sent me a beautiful bouquet of red roses and a music CD. He made my Valentine’s Day really special.” Sonali Kulkarni shares a unique experience with us.
“When I was in college, I was extremely shy and I used to avoid days like Valentine’s Day. But, once I finally decided to conquer my fear. When I entered college, one of my friends approached me and presented me a rose and wished me. It was a simple act, yet it gave me lots of joy.”
For many, this Valentine’s Day will be more special than ever before. As Adhyayan Suman, whose romance with Kangna Ranaut has grabbed many headlines, says, “This is my most special Valentine’s as it is my first with Kangna. This relationship means a lot to me, and I will cherish the memory forever. There’s double celebration on the cards, what with our film hitting the bull’s-eye at the BO, and my next film ready for release.” Director Anurag Kashyap chips in with a similar thought, “I haven’t ever had any Valentine’s Day celebration before. This year I’m hoping to celebrate it.”
Not that the euphoria is shared by everyone. Imran Khan says emphatically, “I hate Valentine’s Day.” Purab Kohli adds, “I don’t think you need any special day to tell someone you love them. When I was younger, I took my girlfriend out on Valentine’s Day as a formality. It didn’t really mean anything to me. I think Valentine’s Day is a good day to sell something.”
Eesha Koppikhar reflects along similar lines, “Valentine’s Day doesn’t really matter, as every day is a Valentine’s Day for me. I express my love and affection to everyone I care for.” Anyone can catch your eye, but it takes someone special to catch your heart. So, ladies and gentlemen, make this Valentine’s Day a memorable one for you and your special someone.
