Ranbir Kapoor & Imran Khan to host Filmfare
Is the film fraternity saluting its young Turks instead of lauding its veterans? Are we likely to see new faces at the much talked about Filmfare Awards. It was initially being speculated that the 54th Filmfare Awards have been postponed from February 28 to March 7 to give SRK
enough time to recover from his shoulder surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai that took place on February 16.
The actor was slated to enact a dual role impersonating Suri and Raj from his recent hit ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Shah Rukh had earlier co-hosted the 53rd Filmfare Awards in 2008 with co-actor Saif Ali Khan. And their catty remarks and razor sharp wit had won over the junta. But, now according to grapevine, Shahrukh Khan is being replaced as the host at this year’s Filmfare Awards that is being held on February 28.
They are being replaced by good friends newcomers Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan who are slated to be jointly hosting the event. Their combination is worth a watch as Imran is known to be a shy guy, while Ranbir is the complete brat. The duo, it’s being heard are rehearsing a comic script for the evening that’s bound to have all viewers in splits. Director duo Karan Johar and Farhan Akhtar are also hosting a part of the event together on Sunday.
So, here’s looking forward to a night of high glamour and entertainment as all eyes are focussed on the awards night. The Filmfare Awards were started in 1953, by the Filmfare magazine, to salute the talented Bollywood industry members and lend its encouragement to various members of the industry.
