Minissha Lamba (born on January 18, 1985) is an Indian actress. Minissha Lamba may be called as one of the most popular new faces introduced in Bollywood introduced in the Bollywood in the recent years. Minissha Lamba was born in Kashmir, in the year 1985. Her dad was in the hospitality business. This gave Lamba to travel around the country and meet many people. She has graduated from the Miranda House in Delhi and has a degree in English. Her long term ambition was to become a journalist. However, she pursued modeling as hobby and that turned the tide and made her an actress.
She was a well-placed model in Indian modelling industry. She had not really decided to act in films, but she loved modeling and was fortunate enough to be selected to model for Cadbury. Clearly her intent was to complete her education, concentrate on an academic career and do some modeling on the side. She was successful in completing her education from University of Delhi and majored in English with Honors in 2004.

While she was pursuing he graduation in Delhi, Minissha Lamba used to try repeatedly to get a foothold in the modeling industry. For this reason she was found for several times in those years trying her best in modeling even seating on the sidelines. It was during this time she got opportunities and tried her luck and the best possible performance in several successful television commercials like LG, Sony, Cadbury, Hajmola, Airtel, Sunsilk, and also others.
She got her first break unexpectedly, when she was auditioning for a Cadbury commercial in Delhi. Then came her first movie in 2005 called “Yahaan”, which was directed by Shoojit Sircar.This movie gave Lamba her break and she enacted the role with a lot of grace. Lamba’s dream role happens to be that of Kate Winslet’s in the movie “Titanic”.
It is to be said that though severely interested she was not at all prepared or ever intended to use modeling as a stepping-stone to films. So this offer to her was beyond imagination and she took Sircar’s offer and moved on to acting in films. She says if she couldn’t have been an actress, she would have wanted to be a war correspondent.
Her other movies include “Corporate”, “Rocky: The Rebel”, “Anthony Kaun Hai” and “Honeymoon Travels”. Her upcoming movies include, “Anamika”, “Shaurya”, “Dus Kahaniyaan”.
