Deepika Padukone wants to have Chinese
Ni Hao, Lovelies. And that means ‘Hello’ in Mandarin. So, if you’re wondering why we’ve contracted a Beijing-bug, here’s the ‘maid’ in China story. Ever since we chatted up with Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone; and they took us on a narrative tour of the land of the Mings, we’ve been chattering in ‘Chinglish’. Anyway, since, we’re back from Chinatown to Chowpatty, let’s go back to Hinglish, our remixed music, and our food, of course. That includes our favourite localised, chatpata desi Chinese. Well, no one relishes it more than Deepika, and hear this story about her taste-buds, it’s quite a treat. The gal was craving for Chinese food in China. Gotya, didn’t we? You wouldn’t have guessed in a hundred years! “I enjoyed the authentic Chinese food there for a few days, but then I started missing the Indianised Chinese food, with extra masala and chillies. The real Chinese food gets too mild for us, we like everything that has a dash of extra masala,” says Deepika. Yeah, don’t we all love our Manchurian, tadka maar ke.
