The movie’s created enough buzz even before the filming ended, and that’s because Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kambakkht Ishq stars Hollywood stars Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh, apart from Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles.
The theatrical trailer of the desi style East-meets-West saga, directed by newbie Sabbir Khan, is out, and features Bebo and Akki looking quite dapper and sexy in picture-perfect phoren locales.
But, the interesting titbit is that Sly is not playing himself in the film. He’s playing a character called — take a wild guess — Rambo! Or John Rambo, to be exact, a Hollywood hero who presents an award to Akshay’s character, a Hollywood stuntsman, at an awards ceremony in the Kodak theatre in Hollywood, where the movie was shot. The shooting was also done at the Universal Studios in LA — the first Indian movie to have been shot at these locations. Brandon and Denise play themselves, and Akshay’s character is a stunt double for Brandon’s.
The movie is an action thriller, but one of the stills harks back rather strongly to a Jodhaa Akbar sequence in which Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan are having a sword fight. But then that was history, right?
